Announcement
Everything is perpetually moving and
changing. 15 years ago the EU officially recognises Slovenia's
independence, on 1. May 2004 Slovenia became an EU member and
with January of this year we succesfully introduced the Euro as
national currency. In these days the Organisation for Economic
Cooperation and Development, a 30-member rich countries club,
has invited Slovenia to start talks on joining the organisation.
We, Slovenians, are proud to belong to
the EU family. On the other side we are proud on our history,
culture, language and indeed, nature. The Republic of Slovenia
lies at the heart of Europe, where the Alps and the
Mediterranean meet the Pannonian plains and the mysterious Karst.
It is a small, beautiful and picturesque country, with lakes and
rivers, hills and mountains, dominantly green because of woods
and forests. Not to forget the vineyards, the variety of the
grape sorts and wines in so small territory is incredible. And
finally, warm people are living here.
The small part of our history is linked
to the last 15 years of the card system Activa, composed by 8
Slovenian banks. Activa is the largest and the most important
card network and card payment system in the country, well known
in the world as well because of innovation and business
excellence. Celebrating the 15th anniversary we wish to give as
a present to national public the largest card event even
happened in the country in the form of the free of charge one
day conference in the morning & afternoon and with evening
social event.
As SEPA is coming, the red thread,
linking the conference themes together, will be SEPA. So, I have
the honour to invite you to join us in the 15th anniversary of
the card system Activa on 14th June. Your presence could be not
only the reward for our past work, but also would be a kind of
de facto recognition for all the country’s efforts and realized
aspirations concerning European Union.
Best regards,
Gojmir Nabergoj
